About the Journal

The Journal of  Bharatiya Paramparik Gyan  (Journal of Indian Traditional Knowledge) is the official peer-reviewed journal of the Bharatiya Paramparik Gyan Vigyan Samaj ((https://bpgvs.org/) which  is dedicated to publishing high-quality scholarly work on Indian Traditional Knowledge, with the primary objective of promoting research on its diverse dimensions across ancient, medieval, and contemporary periods. It provides an interdisciplinary academic forum for scientists, engineers, educators, historians, sociologists, psychologists, economists, medical practitioners, philosophers, and scholars from other disciplines to exchange ideas and critically examine the evolution, nature, and methodologies of philosophical, scientific thought and technological advancements that emerged and evolved in Bharat over several centuries. The journal also seeks to explore the contemporary relevance and potential applications of this knowledge in addressing modern societal, scientific, technological, and environmental challenges.


In addition to publishing peer-reviewed research articles, the journal features reports and proceedings of workshops, conferences, seminars, and other scholarly events conducted across the country and internationally on various aspects of the Indian Knowledge System. It also publishes book reviews and previously unpublished manuscripts that contribute to the study, documentation, preservation, and dissemination of Bharatiya Traditional Knowledge in its diverse.
